Having updated other areas of this 1800s Italianate home in Amherst, Mass., it was a pleasure to tackle this kitchen project. The clients had been cooking in a tiny kitchen for many years, and they were ready to expand. Hartman Construction demolished the existing kitchen, then added a new addition to the side of the house, being sure the look and feel felt authentic to the rest of the home. We then went to work creating a large kitchen, entryway, and bathroom in the new space. The kitchen features granite countertops, a generous island, ample storage, and plenty of natural light through the surrounding windows and transom windows. A side note: We love this client even more than we love this home.
